Your New Position:

Our client is commencing a nationally significant, major greenfield infrastructure project.

As client-side Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the design process, ensuring seamless integration between the external design consultants and internal subject matter experts. You will guide the entire process through a multi-layered environment, where success depends on foresight, integration, strong leadership and clear command of internal requirements and regulatory frameworks.

You will:

• Effectively manage end-to-end design processes

• Ensure external design consultants deliver to scope, budget, and schedule

• Manage the monthly governance cycle

• Provide regular reporting on design progression to executive leadership

• Identify and address emerging design risks early to maintain project integrity and avoid escalation

• Navigate complex regulatory pathways to secure timely approvals

• Drive successful high-level stakeholder engagement

Your Background:

• Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline

• Demonstrated success in managing the design of major infrastructure projects

• Experience with tier 1 contractors / developers and client-side delivery would be considered favourably

• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

• Situational awareness and a proactive mindset — able to spot risks months in advance and take action early

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
