Metromix is seeking an experienced and professional individual to join our Concrete Team as a Production Manager located at the Silverwater & Cromer Plants. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the of the safe, efficient and cost-effective operations of the nominated concrete plants, with a focus on maximising the performance of people, plant and fleet to meet Metromix operational standards while delivering the required customer service standards. Operate the concrete plants in a safe & efficient manner. The position interacts closely with the Concrete Plant Operations, Customer Service Centre, Logistics, Technical, Financial & Sales team.

Safety must always be of the highest standard within the daily operations. 

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

·        Maintain a safe system of work in the workplace.

·        Implement WHS, EEO and adhere to our SHEMS - Safety Health Environmental Management System & QMS - Quality Management System.

·        Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOP)

·          Ensure the effective implementation of stock controls at each site.

·          Demonstrate effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team.

·          Manage, develop, coach & support site batchers, company drivers.

·          Coordinate training for staff within the team, as required.

·          Preparation and submission of site capital expenditure and management.

·          Full P & L responsibility of each site

·          Manage Contractor relationships and supervision

·          Calibration and certification of plant equipment

·          Manage end to end, day to day activities of a concrete plant

·          Conduct Auditing, Hazard Reporting, incident reporting and investigation

·          Implement a standardised R&M plan across both sites.

·          Available to work Saturdays as required

Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role of Concrete Plant Operations

·        Be a highly motivated individual

·        Ability to work flexible hours and in various locations as required

·        Strong Customer Service skills, Sound negotiation skills.

·        Sound knowledge of COR principals, fatigue management, load restraint and vehicle loading weight requirements, Vehicle speed compliance, Vehicle Maintenance standards.

·        Excellent time management skills

·        Intermediate Computer Skills, Microsoft Office, Command Alkon, Syspro, Netcorp.

·        Hold an unrestricted Class C License

 The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screening.
