About the role

As our business continues to expand, we are seeking skilled Line Leaders who are passionate about production excellence and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for all tasks related to the role, as outlined below. We offer a day shift schedule, Monday to Friday, with a 5.30 a.m. start, providing a great work-life balance.

Successful Applicants Must Have:

A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the food manufacturing industry, demonstrating comprehensive expertise in all aspects of food production processes. The Line Leader manages a team of up to 30 members.

Safety and Quality

• Escalate any safety concerns promptly to the manager and safety team to ensure immediate action is taken.

• Ensure adherence to housekeeping standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

• Lead by example in following all company procedures, implementing best safety practices, and setting high standards for safety within the team.

• Strictly comply with HACCP requirements and guidelines to maintain food safety and quality throughout production.

• Monitor and ensure that product quality remains consistent and aligns with company specifications at all times.

• Training and support

• Collaborate with the Buddy Trainer to ensure all new employees are properly onboarded and integrated into the team.

• Provide coaching and support to line members, holding them accountable for performance and adherence to company standards.

• Offer continuous coaching to all employees, reinforcing correct processes and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient operations

Operational performance

• Continuously monitor shared areas and production line to ensure housekeeping standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are consistently followed.

• Track and evaluate line performance, ensuring that line speeds, productivity, and staff allocation align with company standards.

• Ensure the Production Dashboard is updated accurately on an hourly basis, reflecting real-time data and key details.

• Verify that all required operational and technical paperwork is completed within designated timelines.

• Ensure team member rotations, stretches, and break schedules are managed according to guidelines and operational needs.

• Collaborate with your manager on performance management issues such as tardiness, absenteeism, and poor behaviour, escalating concerns when necessary.

• Act with urgency to escalate hazards, downtime, and waste issues to your manager for immediate action.
