About the teamThe Integrity Branch sits within the Chief Counsel and Integrity Division. Our vision is Enabling the department to achieve its objectives lawfully and with integrity.
The Integrity Branch plays a critical role in building and maintaining the departments pro-integrity culture. The Branch comprises of 5 sections:
- Fraud and Corruption Control
- Probity & Integrity Operations
- Risk & Integrity Culture
- Protective Security
- Insider Threat
You are a motivated individual looking for a challenge to lead an integrity team, playing a critical role in the development, implementation and maintenance of integrity-related policies and procedures in line with best practice and legislative requirements.
Our ideal candidates will have:
- A strong understanding of APS integrity frameworks and the APS integrity landscape.
- Enjoy leading staff, working collaboratively, and building partnerships and networks.
- Excellent judgement and stakeholder engagement skills, including confidence to engage directly with senior leaders.
- Great communication skills and experience in managing a geographically dispersed team in the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Outstanding organisational skills, excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
- Significant leadership and management experience in a complex organisation, including a proven track of establishing high performing integrity teams and systems.
- Significant experience in fraud and corruption control with an interest to work across the range of integrity services.
- Experience working successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
As a manager you will report directly to the General Manager and work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction. You will lead and motivate a team, working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external parties to promote a pro-integrity culture and deliver integrity services that support our stakeholders to develop effective policies and programs. In particular, you will:
- Lead a section delivering integrity services, which may include:
- fraud and corruption control
- protective security (physical, personnel and information)
- insider threat
- probity advice
- enterprise risk
- integrity culture
- misconduct investigations under the APS Code of Conduct and Public Interest Disclosure scheme.
- Promote and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including cross-agency stakeholders.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the branch, lead branch change initiatives and provide strategic direction and guidance to your team and others.
- Manage your section budget effectively.
- Develop and manage your staff so they have a shared sense of purpose and can successfully contribute to outcomes of the branch and the division and ongoing improvements.
- Build and maintain a thriving team culture.
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
