Legal Counsel Opportunity at a Leading Not-for-Profit Organization
Join a dynamic legal team at a prominent not-for-profit organisation.
Join a legal team of 4 experienced legal professionals, including a highly regarded General Counsel, and provide expert legal advice and support on diverse activities, including major domestic and international events.
About the Role
Under the guidance of the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, you will:
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and policies, including those related to a high-profile event.
- Provide strategic legal, governance, and risk management advice.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Administration, and event leadership) and external legal providers.
- Provide advice on compliance, data and privacy, marketing, employment, and insurance matters.
- Assist with dispute resolution.
- Develop and maintain a precedent register for organisational use.
- Conduct legal training for staff and stakeholders.
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4-7 years of relevant legal experience with a current legal practicing certificate.
- Strong skills in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal risk assessment.
- Ideally proficient at Nuix Discover.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, resilient, and detail-oriented approach with a commitment to confidentiality and client service.
