About the RoleOur client is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join a dynamic Engineering & Design team. Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the structural design of switchroom steel structures. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise in steel structural design, engineering calculations, and compliance standards to support innovative and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design structural steel components for switchroom construction in line with Company standards
  • Prepare engineering calculations, structural design sketches, and rigging arrangement drawings
  • Review and check engineering drawings and fabrication documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams - including Switchroom Design, Project Management, and Production - to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Ensure all work aligns with performance specifications, functional requirements, and Australian Standards (AS-NZS 1170 / AS 4100)
  • Contribute to process improvements, modular design approaches, and materials efficiency
  • Liaise with document control, external vendors, and other engineering disciplines
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Proven experience in steel structural design, preferably within industrial or prefabricated structures
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS-NZS 1170 / AS 4100)
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing design calculations and construction documents
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
