Internal Communications Officer opportunity 
  • Approx. $50-$55 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
  • Assignment duration is up to 4-6 weeks. Immediate Start
  • Melbourne CBD location/Working from Home Arrangement
 About the role Statutory Authority seeks an Internal Communications Officer to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 4-6 weeks based in Melbourne CBD. As an Internal Communications Officer, you will develop and deliver communication strategies and campaigns and produces content for a range of internal channels to keep staff informed. Responsibilities and duties Reporting directly to the Internal Communications Manager your key tasks and responsibilities will include: 
  • contributing to the development and implementation of internal communication framework, protocols, toolkit and procedures to support business operations and change management initiatives
  • Developing and delivering employee communication strategies and campaigns in consultation with relevant branches and teams
  • maintaining the intranets central administration by editing and creating content, publishing corporate information, managing and overseeing user access, maintaining branding and design
  • proactively working with internal stakeholders to design and deliver staff engagements (virtually and in person), staff presentations and speeches, and strategic communication plans and projects
  • providing expertise and advice on internal communication across the business, particularly regarding the use of audience appropriate content and language
  • producing, writing and editing internal communication across a variety of communication channels
 Key Selection Criteria The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include: 
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of effective internal and staff engagement initiatives
  • Specialised expertise in intranet content management and publishing, preferably in SharePoint, and knowledge of current web standards and trends, including Victorian Government standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Experience across a range of other communication disciplines, including media liaison, digital engagement, and event management
  • Exceptional attention to detail in drafting, editing and proofing written work, and the ability to identify the need for, and use of audience appropriate language
 Qualifications 
  • Tertiary Qualifications in communication, journalism or media
  • Prior experience within the public sector will be highly regarded
