As a Strategic Communications Officer, youll lead the development and delivery of comprehensive communication strategies. Youll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring messaging is aligned with objectives and delivered to a high standard. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing tailored communication strategies for program announcements and policy initiatives.
• Collaborating with specialists in design, digital, media, and more to bring strategies to life.
• Creating and editing content for web, social media, internal communications, and marketing materials.
• Managing relationships with program and client areas to foster collaboration.
• Evaluating communication activities to measure effectiveness.
• Mentoring team members and building capability across the branch.

Were looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in communications account management within government.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
• Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions or escalate when necessary.
• Excellent writing skills, with a focus on accessibility and attention to detail.
• Experience drafting digital marketing content.
• Empathy, adaptability, and a team-oriented approach.

This role is Canberra-based, and Australian citizenship and baseline clearance is essential.
