As the Payroll Team Leader, you will join a dynamic and accomplished Finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Payroll Manager your responsibilities include:
• Lead and oversee all aspects of the organisations payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across fortnightly and monthly processing cycles
• Provide expert interpretation and application of Modern Award conditions within a complex, multi-site workforce environment
• Conduct comprehensive periodic reviews of statutory calculations including PAYG withholding, payroll tax, superannuation contributions, and other regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to analyse labour cost variations at site level, providing strategic insights and recommendations for cost optimisation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in payroll systems and processes, implementing best-practice solutions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy
• Manage and monitor third-party payroll service providers, ensuring service level agreements are met and maintained
• Provide mentorship and leadership support to the broader Finance team, contributing to organisational capability building and knowledge transfer
• Successfully execute special projects and ad-hoc initiatives as directed by senior management
To be considered in this role, you will possess 5-6 years of progressive experience in payroll management within a similar-sized organisation, demonstrating strong technical competency and team leadership capabilities. You will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business systems, and excellent stakeholder management skills across all organisational levels.
