About the ROLE
As a Field Officer/Drone Pilot, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of critical infrastructure data, collecting, validating, and updating asset information to ensure safety and compliance across the network. The key responsibilities include:
Analyse the design, work-as-executed project information, and databases utilising multiple systems and equipment to record, capture, and improve asset information to ensure that it meets Company standards, policies, procedures and workplace instructions.
Conduct field investigations to verify and document precise spatial data and asset details using high-accuracy GPS, GIS mapping, CAD software, and field measurement tools (laser distometers, measuring wheels, and tapes), with real-time updates via PC tablets.
Liaise with operational, project, and maintenance employees, and ASPs to resolve issues with data, and gather information on construction schedules and progress updates to enable the accurate and timely inspection and recording of assets to update the Asset and Metering Data systems.
Undertake field investigations for the maintenance of data in Asset Systems.
Flying pre-programmed drones on specified routes to capture pole-top photographs while maintaining a visual line of sight.
Manual flying of drones in case of any unexpected disruptions as per the provided instructions.
Capture, update and maintain GIS data to ensure that the integrity and accuracy of Asset and Metering Data systems is delivered within agreed timeframes to deliver a safe and effective electrical distribution network.
Advise employees and ASPs on complex asset information to assist with the safe execution of construction work in areas affected by the Companys assets.
About YOU
Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Geospatial.
Valid C Vehicle Licence (up to 4.5 tonnes GVM).
Green Card WorkCover Induction for Construction Work - General Course.
Experience in the electricity market with knowledge of metering and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
Remote Pilot License (RePL) & Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC), OR willing to get.
