Draftsperson

MGC Engineering is a leader of specialized mechanical engineering solutions within the building services industry. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects, encompassing all stages of construction from concept design, construction, commissioning and service maintenance. We target building sectors such as commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, production, tertiary education and research. We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Building Services Draftsperson to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D mechanical services drawings using AutoCAD

• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect changes in design

• Prepare layouts, schematics and technical documentation for not only mechanical services, but for specialized turn key projects.

• Convert concept designs and site sketches to CAD drawings for shop drawings or final As-Built drawings

• Ensure designs on CAD are accurate and clearly conveyed to the team

• Collaborate with engineers, construction supervisors, suppliers, and other relevant parties to refine designs and address technical challenges

• Perform quality control on draft designs and documentation

• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as required

Requirements:

• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (PR) required

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in mechanical building services

• Fully proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities with ability to liaise effectively with engineers, construction supervisors, suppliers, and other project contributors

• Good knowledge of drafting standards and best practices

• Understanding of mechanical systems, building processes, construction methods, industry standards and ability to read drawings from multiple disciplines preferred

• Knowledge of Revit is an advantage
