The Role

As a Fire Tower Sentry, you'll be responsible for monitoring live-fire training activities and helping ensure safe operations across the training area.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Monitoring live-fire range activities and ensuring safety requirements are adhered to
  • Identifying and escalating potential hazards or breaches immediately
  • Coordinating with firefighting crews via radio communications
  • Monitoring for smoke, fire outbreaks and other operational risks
  • Providing accurate location and navigation information to response teams
  • Assisting with HSE inspections, safety observations and job analysis activities
  • Supporting the Land Management team with operational duties as required
  • Working closely with Defence personnel and internal stakeholders
About You

You have strong observation skills, remain calm under pressure and are confident communicating with operational teams in fast-paced environments.

Essential Requirements
  • Current Manual Driver's Licence
  • Experience using handheld and vehicle-mounted radio communication systems
  • Strong map reading and navigation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple stakeholders
Highly Regarded
  • First Aid certification
  • Previous experience in emergency services, firefighting, Defence, land management or similar operational environments
