Major Gifts and Bequests Coordinator (Part‑time, 0.8 FTE)

The Leprosy Mission Australia is working towards Zero Leprosy transmission by 2035. This pivotal role is crucial to supporting our work in India, Nepal, Nigeria, and Timor‑Leste and will expand philanthropic partnerships across NSW, QLD, and the ACT.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Strategic Relationships Lead and lead major‑gift and bequest development efforts.
• Acquire and nurture new donor relationships, and proactively identify opportunities among non‑traditional supporter bases.
• Build and manage a pipeline of major donors and bequest prospects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless stewardship and recognition of donors.
• Derive meaningful data and insights to strengthen the Leprosy Mission’s resources.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and nurturing donor relationships and securing major‑gift and bequest funding.
• Track record of building relationships, initiating contact, and moving prospects through a pipeline.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
• Strong knowledge of prospect research, donor screening and major‑donor models.
• Experience with donor databases and CRMs such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Blackbaud or comparable systems.
• Self‑starter who can work autonomously in a remote environment, results‑oriented, innovative, and proactive.
• Alignment with The Leprosy Mission Australia’s vision, mission and values.
