In this role youll step into a pivotal position leading battery storage design across a fast-growing project pipeline. Youll become the subject matter expert on BESS, driving design and integration while mentoring engineers around you. About the role

You will lead the BESS design stream. Reporting into the Head of Engineering, youll work hand-in-hand with project managers, subcontracted designers, and clients. Youll be the person making sure designs not only comply with regulatory and grid requirements but also meet the high expectations of investors and stakeholders. Your input will stretch from early project stages through commissioning, giving you oversight across the entire lifecycle.

Duties

  • Lead design activities for battery storage projects, from concept through delivery

  • Manage internal and external design teams across multiple projects

  • Mentor engineers on BESS integration, protection, controls and commissioning

  • Work with project managers to manage scope, client requirements, and variations

Skill/experience

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Track record in BESS projects (utility-scale or C&I, with utility-scale highly valued)

  • Background in substations is prefered

  • Understanding of load flow and power system studies

  • Experience with protection, controls, SCADA/EMS and commissioning
