Skilled Nursing is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Mental Health Nurses to join our client’s team within a youth custodial healthcare setting in Victoria. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people experiencing complex mental health needs while contributing to continuity of care and positive health outcomes in a supportive multidisciplinary environment. About the Role: The Mental Health Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting General Practitioners and other clinicians in the management of young people experiencing complex mental health conditions. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You must be willing to work a rotating roster across day, afternoon, and night shifts. Key Responsibilities for this role: • Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments in line with AHPRA standards and professional practice guidelines • Deliver treatment, interventions, and ongoing reviews in accordance with care plans and GP mental health plans • Support the admission and transition of new patients into the service • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health support • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold best practice standards within a custodial healthcare environment Essential Requirements: • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse • Demonstrated mental health nursing experience • Strong assessment, communication, and crisis management skills • Ability to work effectively within a challenging but rewarding environment • Flexibility to work rotating shifts If you are passionate about mental health nursing and making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people, we would love to hear from you.
