Phenomenal Mid-Market Buyout & Growth Equity Fund

Overview

This is an opportunity to join a high-quality mid‑market private equity platform investing across buyout and growth opportunities in structurally attractive sectors. The fund partners closely with founders and management teams, taking a hands‑on, value‑driven approach to building businesses over the medium to long term.

The Investment Manager will sit at the core of the investment team and play a critical role across the full deal lifecycle. The role offers genuine responsibility, exposure to senior decision‑makers, and the opportunity to develop into a long‑term investor within the platform.

The Role

End-to-End Investing

  • Lead analysis and execution across live transactions, from initial screening through completion
  • Build and own detailed financial models, including operating cases, valuations, and downside scenarios
  • Drive commercial diligence, working directly with management teams and external advisors
  • Prepare high‑quality investment committee materials and actively contribute to IC discussions
  • Work closely with portfolio company management teams post‑investment
  • Support value‑creation initiatives across strategy, bolt‑on M&A, capital structure, and operational improvement
  • Track performance versus investment case and help refine strategic priorities
  • Attend board meetings and strategy sessions as part of the deal team
  • Contribute to proactive sourcing efforts and relationship development with founders, advisors, and intermediaries
  • Develop investment theses and sector perspectives to support origination
  • Represent the fund professionally with external stakeholders

Who This Role Is For

This role suits a high‑calibre investor who wants real responsibility, ownership, and progression, rather than a purely execution‑driven role.

You will likely have:

  • 5–8 years’ experience in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or corporate development
  • Strong exposure to buyout and/or growth transactions, ideally in the mid‑market
  • Excellent financial modelling skills and strong commercial judgement
  • Confidence engaging with senior management teams and advisors
  • A genuine interest in building businesses, not just closing transactions

You will be:

  • Intellectually curious, commercial, and detail‑oriented
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability
  • Motivated by long‑term outcomes and value creation
  • Low‑ego, collaborative, and highly professional

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Meaningful ownership across deals and portfolio companies
  • Direct exposure to partners and investment committee
  • Lean, high‑quality team with strong culture and high standards
  • Clear progression path based on performance, not time served
  • Opportunity to develop into a senior investor within the fund
