About The Role

The Orange Health Service, Social Work Department operates across both the Orange Health Service and the Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Service on the Bloomfield Campus. This position is an opportunity for Social Workers both local or looking for a ‘tree change’ to become a member of a dynamic rural Social Work Department.

The Senior Social Worker – Cancer Care provides psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, short term counselling interventions (individual and group) and complex psychological support to cancer patients, carers and their relatives receiving cancer treatment at Orange Health Service. The role is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and overall provision of psychosocial care cancer services.

As a Senior Social Worker position, there is an opportunity to apply your supervisory knowledge and skills and engage in the development of social workers in Oncology Social Work practice.
